Meet the team: Jo
Our meet-the-team series is for you to get to know our team members a bit more.
Hey Jo, we'd like to get to know more about your role at Halo
What’s your job title
Account Manager.
What sort of duties do you have at work?
Managing effective communications between clients and the execution of project objectives in a timeous, satisfying manner. Retaining healthy correspondence with clients and building long-term and sustainable relationships.
What inspires or excites you, and why?
I love to run because it clears my head and refocuses my energy. I get excited by the wild trails and adventures it takes me on and the cool people I meet on the road from all walks of life.
What is your #1 tip for your clients?
Credibility is key. Satisfying outcomes are based on authentic engagement and a genuine understanding of the project goals.
What’s your go-to productivity hack?
Get a good night’s sleep. This helps with mental focus and full workdays.
What could you give a 30-minute presentation about with no advance preparation?
I absolutely love affirmations. I love to write positive quotes and stick them on the fridge or frame quirky art sketches for my walls. Hence, I would comfortably deliver a 30 min presentation on your unique identity and why it is so important to let your individual light shine in the world for the greater good.
What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?
Greater attention to detail. When you think you have checked, there is no harm in checking one more time.
What’s a work-related accomplishment that you’re really proud of?
I executed a marketing exhibition in Johannesburg for a global clothing trade show. It was a dynamic experience, and the coordination took a lot of concentration and pushed me out of my comfort zone.
If salary weren’t a factor, what job would you do?
I would garden all day and work hard to exhibit in the Garden and & Home magazine.
Tell us more about you outside of work…
Where are you from?
Durban, KwaZulu Natal.
Do you have a nickname, and how did you get it?
Jojorico – I don’t know actually. It was from a previous colleague who thought it had a ring to it, haha.

Just over here blooming where I’m planted!
What wouldn’t we know about you, just by looking at you?
That I was bitten by a horse and have a scar on the side of my left eye.
Cats or dogs (or neither?)
Cats and dogs.
What’s your favorite word in the English language
Cherish.
The best piece of advice you were ever given was …
Stay true to yourself.
What kind of music do you like?
Remixes from pop, rap and gospel artists. I also love collaborations.
Do you like travelling? If so, what’s the best place you’ve ever travelled to?
Yes, I do. I loved exploring New York City with its huge billboards and wild, bold, eye-catching brands.
What’s your guilty pleasure
Ice cream – especially with choc bits.
Are you able to keep a secret
Yes, but if it is too dark or scary I prefer not being told.
