Hey Chris, we'd like to get to know more about your role at Halo

What’s your job title?
I am a visual designer.

What sort of duties do you have at work?
I work on videos, websites and all manners of graphic elements. I’m also the self appointed techie in the office and IT bloke.

What inspires or excites you, and why?
In a professional capacity; minimal and clever designs. Seeing the rules be bent in interesting ways to create exciting innovations.

What is your #1 tip for your clients?
There is no such thing as too much information when briefing, you aren’t stifling our creativity. You’re just giving a more accurate guideline for our creativity to flourish!

What’s your go-to productivity hack?
A head-banging metal playlist on spotify. Nothing gets the gears turning like fast and heavy songs.

What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?
That I take feedback well, in our line of work its essential.

What could you give a 30-minute presentation about with no advance preparation?
Adobe Illustrator hacks to quicken vector-based design processes.

What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?
Layout design. I’m great on the tech side, but it’s a design fundamental I believe I have a lot of growth potential in.

What’s a work-related accomplishment that you’re really proud of?
Tackling a massive Absa Learning Management System.

If salary weren’t a factor, what job would you do?
What I am doing right now. It challenges me daily and I see constant growth in so many facets of life both in and out of the workplace from it.

Tell us more about you outside of work…

Myself performing at a local charity event 'Jump4Paws'.

Where are you from?
Born and raised a Durban baby, up until this very day.

Do you have a nickname, and how did you get it?
Not really a particular one, but I’ll take whatever is thrown at me!

What wouldn’t we know about you, just by looking at you?
I’ve spent more than half my life playing guitar.

Cats or dogs (or neither?)
Dogs, but cats are close behind!

What’s your favorite word in the English language?
"Bespoke". And I always enjoy making a sentence feel more bespoke by using it 😉

The best piece of advice you were ever given was …
Choose happiness above all else.

What kind of music do you like?
Any rock genre through to metal. The louder and faster the guitars are, the better.

Do you like travelling? If so, what’s the best place you’ve ever travelled to?
I do but haven’t been able to do much. Cape town, I love it there.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Gaming sessions that start in the early evening and run on until the early morning.

Are you able to keep a secret?
I don’t know, tell me one and let's find out. Mwahaha!
