PERSPEX.:

Overview
Perspex South Africa (Pty) Ltd have been the leading manufacturer and supplier of Perspex Cast Acrylic sheet in South Africa since 1966. In 2008, they developed their new logo however had the need to apply it across the board and redevelop all their marketing collateral. They approached Halo Media in 2009 and shortly after we were appointed as their agency.

The Challenge
Our task was to develop was to develop a design theme which focused on their requirements of promoting their various product applications, in a fresh and modern direction. We identified their immediate needs as: a completely new website design; a marketing pack in the form of a corporate profile folder, promotional material (calendars etc) and tailored adverts.

The Solution
To reposition Perspex as a market leader through a consistent branding campaign. This was applied to all new marketing material including:

+ Corporate Profile with in-depth product application features
We proposed our popular folder/insert system which combines a traditional folder with customised inserts. The folder can be used both for the profile, and for normal documentation (eg quoting). The profile inserts allow for tailored application and easy reprinting of applicable sections.

+ Full Website redesign and development
A key factor of this was to highlight the various product applications and to allow the Perspex team the ability to edit the site themselves. In conjunction with our back-end development team, we created a site which closely adhered to the new design theme, with an interactive flash interface on the home page and easy to use CMS (Content Management System).

+ Promotional materials
In keeping with the design theme, and with a salute to the 2010 World Cup being held in South Africa, we created various calendars and promotional material (eg. branded foosball table).

+ Advertising
Various magazine adverts

APPLY IT.:

Overview
ApplyIT is a software development company based in South Africa and has successfully created value for many customers in several industry segments, including Mining, Manufacturing and Government.

In 2008, as a result of a restructuring at holding company level, ApplyIT became a subsidiary of AdaptIT Holdings Limited, a specialised IT Group listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange.

The Challenge
HaloMedia’s challenge was to develop their existing Corporate Identity and reception area that embraced their history and existing client base, yet reflected their association with the new holding company and it’s shared direction in the global marketplace.

Another challenge was to give ApplyIT’s reception area a complete make-over reflecting the new direction and modernise the current reception. This would ensure that both clients and employees would have a more positive experience when walking through the doors.

The Solution
To reflect both the heritage and the new direction of ApplyIT.

HaloMedia first developed the Logo based on the existing identity and modernised it’s attributes making it more practical when applying it to different forms of media. The Logo was also designed to reflect it’s association with AdaptIT as the holding company.

The company's corporate stationery was developed to compliment their new Logo and brand positioning.

The reception area was then visualised and designed to reflect a company that deals with technology solutions. Fixtures, fittings, signage & finishes were chosen to express these ideals.

Plasma screens were used instead of the traditional notice and In/Out boards. These were linked to each employees digital calendar and enabled the company to quickly and efficiently determine the availability and status of their staff.

Not only did this present a revolutionary idea that could be sold to other companies, but re-affirmed the benefits of letting technology make life simpler and more effective.

The results have been overwhelming both internally and externally taking the ApplyIT brand to the next level.

“HaloMedia has excelled in understanding our requirements and translating these into practical designs that support and enhance our branding.  The brief to HaloMedia was to assist us with developing new brand elements in a way that could be introduced over a period of time, thereby making it possible for us to tackle several areas in order of priority within a limited budget.

We are delighted with the results and look forward to continuing working together with HaloMedia as one of our preferred strategic partners.” Gavin Halse (Managing Director, ApplyIT)
